Instagram Stories is a feature that allows 150 million users to share important moments of life every day. On January 11, Facebook announced Instagram Stories ads, which are available in beta to only 30+ clients around the world and only on the reach objective.
New placement has proved its’ effectiveness, and in the upcoming two weeks it will be available to every advertiser. Other objectives like Video views, Website clicks, Website conversions, and Mobile app will be added gradually.
Ads in stories let you use targeting, reach, and measurement capabilities that make your ads personally relevant to the people you want to reach.
How do I create ads that run on Instagram Stories?
Every business can now start running ads in stories through the Marketing API, Power Editor, and Ads Manager. Please note that these can be optimized only for the reach objective. By optimizing for reach, you can show your ads to the maximum number of people in your audience and control the ad frequency.
Ads in Instagram Stories use the same targeting and measurement tools as ads that run in the feeds on Facebook and Instagram. This feature enables advertisers to capture audiences who have seen ads in their stories and target those audiences on other placements.
Advertisers can also retarget stories and ads at people who have already seen them on Facebook or Instagram.
So, how do I create a stories Ad?
Keep in mind that ads in stories can only be run on Instagram; to create Instagram Stories ads, use Facebook. You can upload a photo or a video that will appear between people's stories. Note that only 9:16 vertical images and video can be used for stories ads.
4. In the Ad Set section, click Placements
5. Select the Edit Placements, then select the Instagram placement
6. Click Stories
7. Follow the rest of the steps to continue building your ad campaign.
8. When you're ready, click Review Changes to publish your changes.
