It’s official, the WhatsApp version of a Facebook page is coming! WhatsApp have launched the new business app in select markets, including Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the UK, and the US, and plan to launch globally. Currently, it’s a free Android-only app targeted at smaller business to help them connect and establish their official presence on WhatsApp.
Verified Business Account
WhatsApp started its business pilot program back in September 2017, and now WhatsApp business verification is available to a small number of businesses. Verified business accounts are given a green checkmark to demonstrate their authenticity. Which means WhatsApp has verified that the phone number of the contact belongs to the associated business.
Just to let everyone know, according to WhatsApp:
“If you would like to stop any business contacting you, just block them.”
What will WhatsApp Business do for you
According to WhatsApp, quoting the Morning Consult study, WhatsApp helps over 80% of small businesses in India and Brazil to communicate and grow their audience, which makes it much simpler for people to connect with them.
And here is how:
Business Profiles: By creating a business profile, businesses have the ability to provide useful information to the customers such as address, business description, email address, and website.
Quick Replies – Message more, work less: With this feature of the smart messaging tools, it enables businesses to provide quick answers to frequently asked questions, greeting messages, and smooth communication while you are busy.
Messaging Statistics: Enables businesses to access and review core metrics such as the number of messages successfully received, sent, delivered, and read.
WhatsApp Web: Where you can access WhatsApp Business on desktop to send and receive messages.
Account Type: The audience will know when they are talking to a business as they would be listed as a Business Account. In the future, once the business phone number matches, they will become Confirmed Accounts.
With over 1.3 billion monthly users and 1 billion daily users, it would be interesting to see how the business app will turn out. We would recommend small businesses to get their hands on the WhatsApp Business app if you are operating on an Android platform.
