Facebook is now offering businesses around the world a powerful new advertising tool, as it expands Messenger Ads to global use.
Previously tested in Australia and Thailand, with promising results, the 1.2 billion people who use Messenger each month will now view targeted and optimized ads on the home tab of their Messenger app.
Large Australian retailer David Jones used the new tool in its test stage, and was very happy with the results. “Messenger ads have been a powerful addition to our digital advertising strategy, helping us read our customers where they are already active and engaged,” said Michael Tops, GM of Marketing and Communications.
Businesses of every size can now get a new tool for creating meaningful connections with customers and prospects, with the huge Messenger audience giving marketers an opportunity to expand the reach of their campaigns and drive better results.
Here's how it works:
Extend your Reach with Messenger Ads
People will see Messenger ads in the home tab of their Messenger mobile app. When they tap on an ad, they will be sent to the destination chosen during ad creation. This can be your website or a Messenger conversation.
Messenger ads will be available in Ads Manager and Power Editor. If you are using automatic placements, Messenger is included for all supported campaign objectives. Like Audience Network, Messenger ads are an additional placement option when businesses run ads on Facebook.
Advertisers will be able to add Messenger to campaigns using the Traffic and Conversion objectives from 11 July, with more options like the App Installs objective, coming soon.
