CFDs (Contracts for Difference) have long been on TikTok's list of financial categories fully prohibited from advertising. The platform classified them as high-risk financial instruments and blocked promotion outright.
That's changing. TikTok plans to open CFD advertising in a set of METAP and CIS markets, with a tentative launch date of 16 July 2026. Launch is only possible if strict platform requirements are met, and without an official partner, clearing them independently is close to impossible.
Evido by Aitarget is an official TikTok marketing partner. We work with the platform from the inside and learn about changes among the first, before public announcements. We've put together everything on this new CFD opportunity below: the requirements, the timeline, and what needs to happen to be ready by the launch date.
Where CFD advertising will become available on TikTok
Based on TikTok's guidance, CFD advertising will open in the following markets:
🇦🇪 UAE, 🇧🇭 Bahrain, 🇪🇬 Egypt, 🇮🇶 Iraq, 🇰🇼 Kuwait, 🇰🇪 Kenya, 🇱🇧 Lebanon, 🇲🇦 Morocco, 🇳🇬 Nigeria, 🇴🇲 Oman, 🇶🇦 Qatar, 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia, 🇹🇷 Turkey, 🇿🇦 South Africa, 🇧🇩 Bangladesh, 🇦🇿 Azerbaijan, 🇧🇾 Belarus и 🇰🇿 Kazakhstan.
This is not a blanket lift of restrictions. CFD advertising remains prohibited everywhere else on TikTok, and the category is opening only for this specific list of markets.
Requirements for launching CFD advertising on TikTok
TikTok sets five mandatory requirements that rule out a self-serve launch. Missing any one of them makes the launch impossible, regardless of budget, creative readiness, or how well-established the rest of the account is.
- 18+ targeting. Mandatory on every campaign in this category, with no exceptions and no flexibility to widen the audience to younger segments.
- Account allowlisting. The advertiser must be added to the list of approved accounts for CFD advertising. This isn't a self-serve toggle in Ads Manager, it's a separate approval tied to the specific account. It can be obtained through an official reseller of the platform.
- A valid license. A current, verifiable license covering CFD-related activity is required. An outdated or revoked license won't pass review, regardless of whether it was valid in the past.
- Managed Account instead of self-service. The ad account must run as a Managed Account. A standard self-serve account, even a verified one, doesn't qualify for this category.
- Geographic targeting capped by license. An advertiser can only target markets where they hold a valid license. A UAE license doesn't clear the way for Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, or any other market on the list. Each market requires its own confirmation.
Why preparation for CFD advertising should start now
Launch is expected on 16 July, but preparation takes longer than setting up a standard campaign.
Before launch, you need to:
- clear license verification;
- secure allowlisting;
- move the ad account into Managed Account format.
Starting this process only after the category opens means launch could slip by several weeks. That's time your competitors will use to get ahead.
How to get approved: allowlisting through an official reseller
Approval is possible directly through TikTok, but in practice it's accessible mainly to a limited number of large advertisers with direct platform contact. For most financial and fintech companies, the practical path to allowlisting runs through an official TikTok reseller.
Evido by Aitarget holds this status and already supports financial advertisers across the markets listed above. Beyond providing ad accounts, our team also handles allowlisting. It's all part of one infrastructure, not separate one-off services.
Conclusion
Opening CFD advertising on TikTok is a significant shift for the financial vertical across METAP and CIS. The path to launch, however, remains tightly regulated, and missing any one of the five requirements makes launch impossible.
If you're planning to launch CFD advertising on TikTok, preparation should start now. Evido by Aitarget guides clients through the entire process, so you can launch as soon as the category opens, without downtime at the start.
